Changes to Confluence Service Availability

Why is this happening?

Due to changes in Atlassian's Confluence products, IEM's version of Atlassian Confluence will no longer be supported starting February 2024. The discontinuation of Atlassian Confluence Server and Confluence Server licenses means IEM will no longer receive support or important security and software patches.

What we are doing

IEM will continue to utilize Atlassian Confluence for the foreseeable future. However, there will be changes in how IEM's Atlassian Confluence is accessed.

The following changes and events will enable us to continue utilizing Atlassian Confluence:

• Migration Period: From January 2nd, 2024 to January 9th, 2024 IEM's Confluence will be offline.
  Changes made during this period will not be saved. Existing pages may not be viewable.
• Mattermost Logins: Starting January 2024, an IEM Mattermost login or IEM Extended Identity login will be required. This additional login will not replace your IEM Confluence login.
• Geographic Restrictions: Certain geographic locations and regions outside the United States will not be able to access IEM Confluence starting January 2024.
• Changes to URLs: The domain used to access IEM Confluence will change. Existing URLs will continue to work for at least 12 months.
• Web Only: IEM Confluence will only be available on web, mobile apps will no longer be supported.

Alumni, what you need to do

Alumni with existing IEM Confluence logins should complete the following steps to maintain access.

• Verify that your @illinois.edu email is forwarding to your personal email.
• Check that your IEM Mattermost account is active by logging in.
